How the calculators are tested

Every change to the site runs more than 170 automated checks before it goes live. The tax calculators share one set of rates, and the tests confirm the tax worked out at every bracket matches the published rates. Our payslip checker's tax-withheld figures match the ATO's own withholding calculator in every test case we compared, and its schedules are checked against the worked examples in the ATO's tax tables.

When we get something wrong

Email us the page and the figure (details on the contact page). We check it against the official source. If it is wrong, we fix it and update the date on the page, and where a correction changes an answer someone may have relied on, we add a note saying what changed.
